Choosing a Good Road: Created for middle/high teachers, counselors and administrators, this workshop is a learner-centered experience that offers proven strategies in personal effectiveness, classroom management skills, and best practices in learner-centered education and brain-based research, giving students (and educators) the tools they need to succeed.  Educators will learn how to promote students making more effective choices; increase learner motivation, and encourage students to set and take action on goals; shift the beliefs that undermine their success; raise their self esteem and self–efficacy; become critical and creative thinkers; manage their emotions; acquire and demonstrate leadership qualities; and communicate more effectively with others.  The intended result is to increase retention and graduation rates, as well as to promote deeper and more long-lasting student learning.

The Successful Writer: Developed for college English, Reading and ESL instructors, this workshop offers a learner-centered environment in which educators will acquire new tools to improve both student language skills (reading, writing and critical thinking) and student effectiveness.  Educators will learn methods to address student motivation to learn, obstacles to success in writing and reading, and student self-management skills.

A powerful combination of writing and life skills, the workshop’s purpose is to provide educators with dozens of new ideas to bring directly into the classroom, and return to campus with the ability to significantly improve student retention, success and persistence rates in language arts courses.
